Like we said in the last newsletter, we're getting asked over and over again by our clients, "How can I make more money using my website?"

The economy seems to be improving but there's still a lot of fear and anxiety around and of course everyone in business wants to make more money in tough times. Out of these two areas, the one that probably gets more attention is increasing web traffic - you can quite easily buy some Google Adwords and a few hours later be getting a lot more traffic.

Unfortunately, for some business owners, plonking down hundreds of dollars a week on Adwords isn't really a viable option. The Google Local Business Center is the feature in Google that powers the Google Maps business listings, the 10 listings at the top Google (called the Google 10-pack) you see when you search for a specific business in a specific location - for an example try searching "perth plumber" and you'll see the 10-pack and the map at the top of Google.

The Google Local Business Center also powers hundreds of other location based search tools & websites including the majority of the location based search apps you can get on your iPhone.

Being listed in the Local Business Center can be a massive win for many businesses and we've seen some clients get more than a thousand extra visitors per month simply by listing their business in the Local Business Center.

If you're not listed in the Local Business Center you're missing out on a huge advantage over your competition. The process of getting listed is fairly simple, simple head to google.com/local/add and follow the instructions.
